The Presidential Election

The Indonesian people have just finished the general election. After choosing the candidates for the legislative bodies, now, we are going to face the next election which is also very important to us, the presidential election.

This event is very important because this is the first election where people can choose their candidates directly. Voters will come to the polling stations on July 5, 2004 to choose president and vice president.

Candidates for these positions are coming from various background. A lot of people hope that during the campaign, the supporters of each candidates maintain peace and tolerance. If they cannot do them, the political instability will occur and it will effect all sectors of life.

For students, they only demand that the next president and vice president be the ones who really care for the continuation of the 1998 reforms. The leaders who can bring Indonesia out of the economic crisis and eradicate the corruptions. By Charles Roring
